Aerosoft released an update for the CRJ Professional Series to version 2.2.0.0 (Service Pack 1). The update brings with it many necessary features such as new models, new modeling, updated systems, optional vertical navigation, all-new graphics using PBR, and an Electronic Flight Bag with support for charts, checklists, and calculations.

Thrustmaster has today announced they are bringing a range of civilian flight simulation products to market this summer, all of which are officially licensed by Airbus. With 30 years of experience in the market, this is the first time Thrustmaster has stepped into the ring to provide flight simmers with specific civilian hardware. These all integrate perfectly with all current and future simulators including X-Plane 11 and Microsoft Flight Simulator.

FlightFactor Releases Airport Visual System V2

This OANS light system gives the user basic functionalities with an easy to use interface and interactive map. The plugin has the ability to build and optimize taxi routes interactively, as well as show all ground movements on an accurate moving map of the current airport including holding points, aprons, runways and other helpful airfield data. Multi-monitor support is built-in which allows you to use AVS in a pop-out window.

Orbx Global Vector Released for Prepar3D V5

Orbx has released one of their popular ‘Global’ add-ons, Vector, for Prepar3D v5. Global Vector for P3Dv5 is completely new build, based on VECTOR for older version of P3D and FSX. Orbx has changed a few things in the new product, even though it’s still using the same data under the hood. According to Orbx, the features of Global Vector are now more configurable, and the add-on also uses custom road and shoreline textures to integrate better with other Global products.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Update

Ths biggest new this update is that the latest Alpha build, version 1.3.9.0, has been released to the Alpha team. Included with this update is the Boeing 747-8i. Microsoft has said right away that they are aware this plane still has some issues, like the stall speed being off, not all of the systems are finished, and some graphical issues, but the team is ready to get it into the hands of testers.

Flight Sim 2020 Show Cancelled

Just Flight, the organiser and host of Flight Sim - a weekend event held at the RAF Museum Cosford in October since 2019 - has announced it will not proceed with the event this year. The early decision comes on the same day the COVID-19 death toll in the United Kingdom rose to become the highest in Europe, where the event takes place.

TFDi Design Announces the MD-11

At the moment, TFDi are planning on releasing this aircraft for Prepar3D v4 and v5. They have said that in the future, there is a possibility a modified version of the MD-11 will be released for older sim platforms like FSX, FSX:SE, and Prepar3D v1-3. No official commitment was made on Microsoft Flight Simulator, but TFDi will be monitoring the development of the sim and have said they will do their best to support it.

PILOT’S FS Global Real Weather Prepar3D v5 Edition Now Available

PILOT’S has released their FS Global Real Weather add-on for Prepar3D v5. The all-new utility will inject real-world weather into the simulator. This means weather such as upper and lower winds, various cloud types, turbulence, icing and more can be injected into the sim in real-time.

Microsoft Announces Machine Specifications for Upcoming Flight Simulator

Microsoft have released a single image showing the minimum, recommended, and ideal specifications for the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator. Both AMD and NVIDIA computers were mentioned in this list, giving a fairly good look at what sort of hardware will be needed to run the new sim.

Lockheed Martin Releases Prepar3D v4.5 Hotfix 3

Lockheed Martin Prepar3D v5 Releasing Today

In a post on the Lockheed Martin Prepar3D website, Prepar3D v5 will release at 20:00 GMT (16:00 EST). Alongside that information, Lockheed Martin also revealed the pricing for the next generation of Prepar3D. Both the Professional and Academic licenses will remain at the same price as previous versions. This means the Professional license will cost $199 US with the Academic license costing $59.95 US. The Professional Plus license has, however, seen a price increase to $2,500 US compared to previous versions.

Since the announcement of Microsoft Flight Simulator back in June 2019, many have wondered how the flight simulator would be made available to the world. With reliance on AI technology and server-side capability, many have considered that the new simulator will be a subscription-based model. According to a recent interview with Argentinian newspaper La Nacion, it seems that there the new simulator won’t be subscription-based only.
